Living with Urban Wildlife Volunteer Training Classes & Outreach

The Arizona Game and Fish Department, Pima County Natural Resources, Parks Recreation, Tucson Audubon Society, and Tucson Botanical Gardens are collaborating to build upon a volunteer-based community outreach program to educate area residents about human and wildlife co-existence in Tucson and the surrounding areas. The goal is to reach a wide audience with relevant information and offer practical ways to live responsibly with wildlife in the urban setting.

We need enthusiastic volunteers to deliver presentations, on an as-needed basis, for a variety of groups, such as homeowners associations and clubs. Each volunteer will receive 9 hours of training about urban wildlife issues, a 3-hour practice session, a PowerPoint on a CD and a set of handouts to assist them. In return, we ask each volunteer to make two Living with Urban Wildlife presentations in the year following the training.

Training Dates & Times: January 23, 26 & 30, 2007 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm In addition, one additional Saturday practice session (date & time to be arranged) All trainings held at Pima County Natural Resources Parks & Recreation 3500 W. River Road If you are interested in becoming a new volunteer or if you took the training last year and would like a refresher, please contact: Katy Goudschaal, Environmental Educator Pima County Natural Resources, Parks & Recreation 3500 W.
