Hi Friends,
Like most of you, I'm here because I love the desert, and enjoy sharing info and stories about this special place. A year and a half ago, Ordinance 3973 was passed in San Bernardino County to control the damage and abuse caused by irresponsible off-road riding. The Sheriff supports it, and so does county code enforcement. Large off-road interest groups such as CORVA and ORBA were in on the creation of the ordinance; responsible off-roaders understood that their future riding opportunities might be at risk without better controls on the abusive riders. Ordinance 3973 has been a success, based on input from law enforcement, homeowners, desert visitors, and responsible riders.
A small but vocal coalition of riders want to overturn the ordinance or weaken it. The desert could loose it's new found protection from abuse without your help! Please read on, and share this with anybody who cares about the future of this wonderful place!

Ordinance 3973 is Working!
The Code Enforcement ORV Team and the Sheriff's Department report that Ordinance 3973 has given them the tools to deal with irresponsible riders and neighborhood nuisances effectively, reducing rider-resident conflict and drains on officer's time.
