The smell of the desert at night is so mind blowing. It is like this sweet dusty earthy lushy wonderous hard to describe smell. I just want to roll around in its sensuous scent!

Re: Arizona desert smell
Wed, January 18, 2006 - 12:50 AMThere is Nothing like the smell of the Sonoran Desert when it rains, specially during the monsoons in the summer. The smell of wet sage combined with the thunder & lightening and POURing rain. I love to just head west out Ajo Hwy and take it all in! -

Thu, January 4, 2007 - 9:08 PMI love being in the desert during the monsoons- takes on a whole new character and life- water rushing through the washes- you can just about see the brittlebush pop out of the ground, thirsting...
Head up Peralta, past the Needle, down into East Boulder Canyon...cascades in the creek and the fragrance on the wind!

Re: Arizona desert smell
Fri, January 5, 2007 - 1:00 AMThere's absolutely nothing like desert rain. It's refreshing and wild...
Occasionally, when leaving the desert, I'll take a sprig of creosote and dry it, just so I have a part of that distinct scent when I want it. :) -

Re: Arizona desert smell
Fri, January 5, 2007 - 9:01 AMThere've been times when I've wanted a monsoon storm more than the weather does, so I put some dried Creosote I have (I do a lot of herbal stuff) in a bowl and take a hot shower. Does the trick. For extra effects, have some one flick the light switch a few times :)
